TMJ & Jaw Pain Specialist — Ozark, MO
TMJ dysfunction, jaw clicking, locking, headaches from clenching — if your dentist said “just wear a night guard,” we dig deeper.
Book Your AssessmentSound Familiar?
You've been wearing the night guard for months. You've tried to “stop clenching.” You've been told it's stress.
But your jaw still clicks. It locks when you yawn. You get headaches every morning. Eating is uncomfortable. You've stopped chewing gum, stopped eating hard foods, and started avoiding anything that makes it worse.
That's not a jaw that needs more relaxation techniques. That's a jaw that was never properly assessed.
We find the source. Then we fix it.
Real Results
“Finally! Chiropractic work and rehab! At other places I got tired of the 5 minute chiropractor appointments that would work as a quick fix. Dr. Kauffman is great about taking the time to find the root cause and go over exercises and stretches to resolve the issue while trying to relax the muscle while onsite. I highly recommend!”
“Dr. Kauffman has been absolutely wonderful. He always does a really thoughtful explanation of what’s going on and I feel very heard when discussing my concerns. Treatment recommendations have been very personal and responsive. Very highly recommend!!”
Conditions We Treat
Jaw Clicking & Popping
Your jaw clicks when you open or chew. It's been doing it so long you forgot it's not normal. If it's getting louder or more frequent, the disc is shifting — and it's fixable.
Jaw Locking
Your jaw gets stuck open or closed. You have to wiggle it to get it moving again. That's a mechanical problem in the joint, and we can find exactly what's causing it.
TMJ Headaches
Morning headaches, temple pain, pain behind the eyes. Most people treat these as tension headaches. If you're clenching at night, your jaw is the source.
Limited Jaw Opening
You can't open your mouth wide enough to eat a sandwich. Something is blocking it — tight muscles, a displaced disc, or joint restriction. We figure out which one.
Ear Pain & Fullness
Pain in or around the ear, ringing, feeling like your ear is clogged — and your doctor says your ears are fine. It's probably the TMJ. The joint sits right in front of the ear canal.
Neck-Related TMJ
Your jaw and your neck are connected by fascia, muscles, and nerves. If your TMJ treatment isn't working, it's because nobody looked at the neck. We always check both.
If your jaw keeps flaring up no matter what you try, it's time for a real assessment.
