To help you achieve the best results we spends plenty of time with you during every visit.
For Standard and Premium Memberships during your initial visit, online or in-person, Dr. Kauffman will spend a full hour with you. He will get to know you, your concerns and your goals in order to better serve you. During that hour, Dr. Kauffman will perform various examinations to give you a clear diagnosis, treatment plan, and prediction of how your care plan will look.
During follow up visits, Dr. Kauffman spends with you 30 minutes addressing any concerns you may still have, providing you with follow up treatment, progressing your program and making changes as needed to your health and performance plan to keep you improving.
For Premium members, quarterly and annual visits are 60 minutes long to address questions and concerns, discuss lab work and optimize your plan.

We are out-of-network with all insurance plans. This is on purpose, since insurance plans don’t cover the level of service we provide, and our patients deserve.
Over 90% of our patients have excellent insurance, and choose to see us anyway. On request, we are happy to provide you with a superbill (receipt for services we provided), which you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Note: All insurance plans are different, and may reimburse at different rates, or not at all. We recommend speaking with your insurance company to clear up any questions you might have. -
Yes - we accept both HSA and FSA cards. We recommend to all our patients to reach out to their entities directly, as guidelines vary per company.
-
Your program is built with you in mind — all your nutrition recommendations, sleep recommendation, supplements, stretches, exercises, and lifestyle modifications are do-able, tolerable, and chosen based on your lifestyle and biometrics.
We believe all athletes are unique, and therefore require a program tailored to their individual physiology.
-
Yes - you can upgrade memberships once a year. At this moment we don’t allow downgrades.
-
Yes — while our Standard Program is a pay-per-visit plan we recommend all patients to complete our comprehensive lab work.
Keep in mind, the cost is billed separately.

Our lab panel provides a comprehensive look at your current health through bloodwork. We evaluate your lipids, thyroid function, cardiovascular risk, hormone status, minerals, vitamins and a variety of factors that can affect how you feel and perform. This serves as quantifiable data to track progress and make adequate and impactful changes throughout your health journey.
-
Our goal is to optimize your health and performance with lifestyle interventions first. This may include a personalized diet plan, tailored exercise regime, supplementation strategy, sleep tracking and/or additional therapies (i.e. massage therapy, spinal adjustments, intermittent fasting, etc.).
If necessary, we will turn to additional treatment recommendations, which would come directly from our trained medical professionals partners.
-
Yes. We accept patients of all ages in our Standard program. Patients under the age of 18 years old must be accompanied by their parent/legal guardian during all visits.
Premium memberships at this time are only for patients that are 18+.
-
Premium membership patients obtain a 40+ page report that breaks down all the information we gathered from your biometrics, blood work and lifestyle history. Recommendations are then built to give you a roadmap to transform and optimize your health. Our recommendations are focused on nutrition, supplementation, exercise, sleep and lifestyle habits.

We have partnered with LabCorp and Quest to provide us with additional testing, such as microbiome, hormones, food sensitivity testing and other a la carte testing. You will work with your physician to decide which tests you will need to complete, based on your needs.

Achieving optimal health requires commitment.
Our Premium programs are offered on either annual or monthly payment plans, the latter of which has a 4-month commitment period.
We find that it takes a minimum average of 4 full months to see initial, measurable results. This accounts for the time it takes to complete your bloodwork, review results, meet with your providers, implement interventions, and allow time for impact to occur. Our team is fully committed to supporting you throughout your health journey and, in becoming a TAS patient, we ask that you commit to yourself to reap the full benefits of our care.
Our Standard program is a pay-per-visit program. You doctor will be able to estimate how many sessions may be optimal for you.
-
For all scheduled visits, in-person or online, failure to cancel within 24-hours will result on $25.00 USD non-refundable fee.
For annual or monthly programs, if you wish to cancel after the initial 4-month commitment period, you can do so by emailing info@theathletespot.com
